Work Experience

Software Engineer (Research) IBM India Research Lab

July'16-July'18

  • I held the position of Research Software Engineer at IBM Research, working in the Collaborative Cognition (earlier Analytics and Optimization) group at the Delhi office under Dr. Gyana Parija.
  • My job role included designing and building the machine learning component for the cognitive platform IBM Watson Recruitment.
  • I also explored the idea of decentralized collective intelligence in the recruitment domain through cognitive agent modeling of stakeholders to accomodate their diverse definitions of a successful candidate.
  • I worked on developing this framework for cognitive software agents to engage in a sequential game for Collaborative Decision Making, and eventually reach a consensus on an adoptable list of candidates through rank aggregation.
  • In this line of research my team and I maintained a strong focus on creating collaborative autonomous agents that exhibited 2 specific behaviours: (1) conducting privacy-preserved knowledge sharing and (2) modelling other participating agents intent and behaviours into the decision making.

Research Assistant Precog Research Lab

May'16-July'16

  • I worked as a RA at IIIT-Delhi’s social media analytics research lab, PreCog.
  • During my stay I explored visual summarization of events on social media in the form of image patches alongside Dr. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru and Dr. A.V. Subramnyam.
  • I simultaneously worked on a development project, adding multi-platform analytics support to Project-O, a production level social media analytics platform.

Head, Product(Web) Meri Awaaz

Aug'14-Dec'15

  • I worked as Head of Product Development at Meri Awaaz, India’s first platform that connects citizens with their netas (elected officials) and government officials for open, accessible and accountable governance.
  • The platform aided government departments and candidates to understand the current issues in an area and better organize tasks among their teams.
  • Through our application, netas found a medium to connect with their local electorate and showcase their work, thus incentivizing development and issue based politics.
  • I was one of the founding members and developed it’s web and cloud component. We ran a successful pilot with the Janakpuri constituency alongside the Aam Aadmi Party reaching a user count of 5000.
  • As our work lead to the resolution of numerous citizen issues ranging from sanitation and electricty to law and order, our platform received appreciation and coverage on multiple media platforms.
